B.A.R.E.S. Meetings: Fourth Tuesday of the month, 7PM at the Barrow Medical Center, 3rd floor conference room. Click here for directions.

B.A.R.E.S. Club Net meets every Monday Evening at 8:30 PM on 145.130 MHz. (-)
Barrow County ARES Net meets every Sunday Evening at 7:00 PM on 146.55 MHz Simplex

B.A.R.E.S. was formed in 2007 to provide fellowship between amateurs and interested parties, and serve the community, especially in times of disaster.  Barrow Amateur Radio Emergency Services Club is dedicated to the idea of providing communications via amateur radio in time of need to assist any organization or government entity that is involved in providing aid at a time when regular communication modes are not operational.  At other times the club provides training in net operation, equipment efficiency evaluation, equipment portability options and exercises to prove our capability.  We also discuss other aspects of Ham Radio and have fun.

We would be honored if you took the time to visit with us at our next meeting!

 Don't Forget to Spring Forward

Remember to set your clocks forward one hour on Sunday March 14th.  This also serves as a reminder that the Georgia State ARES Net on 3.975 kHz will move up an hour as well.  This will change the net start time from 5:00pm local to 6:00pm local beginning March 14th.

Calendar Of Events

If you were unable to attend the January meeting, you can download a copy of the B.A.R.E.S. calendar of events.  These are activities throughout the county that we would like to focus on as public service opportunities in 2010.  Club interest and participation will determine our level of involvement.  In addition, we have combined regular club activities into this calendar to give a holistic view of resource commitments in the event two activities occur on the same day or weekend.

 Now On Facebook!

B.A.R.E.S. is now on the Facebook social network as a club/organization.  Many ham clubs and ham operators are already registered with Facebook and this allows B.A.R.E.S. to have another presence on the web. Click here to visit the Facebook page.
